PROMOTING CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND WOMEN, EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING IN NABLUS –OLD CITY:

As was planed, by the end of April, 2012 human supporters association will finish the last round of the school support program, in this case we decided to Organize Trip for the children and their families. 400 children from the old city of Nablus and its surrounding schools have been part of our program “school support” children aged between 7-9 years old, from boys and girls were our target groups, during the classes that provided by 5 teachers we promoted the children capacity in Arabic, mathematics and English. Since October 2010, we stated the program, 4 rounds for six months were conducted, and high results were gained by the program. The school support program activities actively provided with many educational means that will help the children to cope at school and get better educational levels with high personal benefits.

As usual, in the illiteracy program activities the program, teachers provided Arabic language, mathematics and English language classes to targeted groups, providing Arabic language and mathematics classes for women and those who dropped out

VOICE of KIDS

After the voice of kids group made their final touch to the magazine, now patiently they are waiting for the magazine to be printed, the magazine included the children passion to life, their daily life and their overview to the future of Palestine.  

 

HUMAN RIGHTS THEATER PROJECT:

Recently the groups of human rights theater project are writing the plays for the final shows, the youth are doing their best to write a very good plays that reflect their realities and to send their massage to the world.

Yoga Classes:

An Italian volunteer “Francesca Francese” has provided yoga classes for human supporters association; many sessions since the April 21^st were organized for at least 40 beneficiates, staff, volunteers and others were part of the classes, during the sessions many exercises were delivered for the groups. As well as a special classes for the children were provided by here, this activities included playing with balloons drawing on the face and many other things.

PALEET CLASSES:

… Volunteered at human supporters to provide Ballet classes for group of girls aged between 10 – 13 years old, the session were provide in the association’s whole. Were the girls learned to perform ballet dance with the music, mastering all the movements that help them to make choreography, the girls expressed how happy there are with this dance because it’s new for them, as they would like to have it more and more.

SPORT FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS:

Sport classes for women and girls were continued in April. Women classes were conducted at the associations headquarter, while girls’ classes were conducted at Al-Fatimia school. Both women and girls realize how important these sport classes are in enhancing their health.

ENGLISH CLASSES FOR WOMEN

Human rights theater project coordinator volunteered to provide an English course to women attending illiteracy classes. This course included Basic English activities and exercises. Attendees considered this course an important one since they are going to practice what they have learnt in it with their children, helping them building their English skills as well.

As post-last month’s visit activity; children discussed the initiatives they made during January, this enhanced their debate and communication skills. Intensive training for next month’s show has already started as well!

\Gladly, we restarted school support program activities at first days of February. This time we targeted 120 children aged between 7 to 9 years from 3 different schools. As usual, the program teachers provided Arabic language, mathematics and English language classes to targeted groups. We also continued our illiteracy program activities, providing Arabic language and mathematics classes for women and those who dropped out.

VOICE of KIDS

A weekly workshop was organized for voice of kid’s team in February, in which several entertaining activities –including several educational games- were carried out. Kids expressed their joy participating in this project!

In this month, the Arabic, and the mathematics teachers have provided to the groups of illiteracy classes, women and dropped out several innovative activities, these activities were such as using Art as a method for a better learning, the groups have made shapes using cartoons and other stationary. As they have played many other educational games that enhance the quality of their understanding to the educational context.

VOICE OF KIDS

During January the voice of kid’s team used to attend the project’s sessions for many activities that brought a lot of fun and enjoyment for all the team, these games and activities were conducted by the kids themselves, those games are psychical competitive games that motivate the kids to worm themselves.

HUMAN TIGHTS THERATER PROJECT

During the month of December 2011, we worked with the participants in the Human Rights Theater Project on sketches of their own writing. They wrote about the Apartheid, the Rights of Refugees, Gender Equality, the Right to Education, the Rights of Civilians during War, Colonization and the Freedom of Expression. The sketches were shown to a local Theater Director, Mr. Qais Awayes, where he evaluated the children’s performance based on their acting and body language, and were really impressed in general. We noticed that the kids were developing their acting skills in a very short period of time, and they gave good performances with regards to the short period of rehearsal.

VISIT TO THE INDEPENDENT COMMISSION FOR THE HUMAN RIGHTS

The team of the human rights theater project has visited the independent commission for human right to make their own initiative which is present a play for the commission in order to show them the practical implementation for the children rights as the commission present the organization’s work and cervices, it was a very new experience to the children that enrich their experience and their understanding to the human rights.

SPORT FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS

We still providing a sport for the same groups of women and girls, this sport course is very necessary for the target groups from many different way, the women find the sport very healthy to enhance their health

ENGLISH CLASSES FOR KIDS

English lessons were given for 26 girls/boys and were hold at the location of Human Supporters Association. The children were introduced to the English alphabet, the numbers, as well as the different colors. Besides the tool of worksheets and working with the blackboard, creative and mental games were used to support the learning success of the children, as well as learning English with a playful approach. After the sessions the children are now able to write and read the above – mentioned topics.

Regional council and semea visit

During this month, a French group from regional council and cemea Have visited us at human supporters association’s center, the team work of HSA have welcomed them with a big please as they offered them a tour in the old city and introduced them to the situation inside specially when the old city suffered a lot from the invasion, then they meet many children from the different project that are conducted at human supporters as we give they an overview about the association history, mission, and values As they were perfectly introduced to recent work methodologies and activities. The visit was full of information and pleasure as the expressed.

First of all human supporters association would like to Congratulate you all for the new year wishing to be a beautiful year full of success and enjoyment for all of you.

PROMOTING CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND WOMEN, EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBING IN NABLUS –OLD CITY

This month the teacher have finished the school support activities – “second grade “for this stage with a beautiful party for the children and their families, in the party they have offered Certificate for the children to congratulate them for ending this stage with a huge success, the party was enjoyable for all the participants due to the dancing music and other activities conducted during the day.

As the illiteracy classes for the women and dropped out are running perfectly. For the women in addition of the classes we offer them sport activities in the yard of HSA, these exercises are giving the women the motivation to attend regularly to our sessions.

The voice of kids team are preparing themselves for the exams that starting with the beginning of this year, we are wishing them to do the best and we encourage them to study more to have the best results. Aswell as the youth of human rights theater project who living the same

period

One of the beautiful things has been conducted during December, a course called origami was offered by a French trainer called gween, this origami teaching the children to make beautiful shapes using papers. Like flaying birds or frog …etc.The group of the children had a wonderful time during the course.

Another beautiful course for group of children were conducted, this course intended to expose the children feelings, and teaching them to recognize them , the children played a lot in this course and expressed a lot from their heart. This course was provided by salvia the Italian volunteer.
